(Note: The weekly construction update highlights only projects with new developments. Comprehensive updates are distributed monthly. For the most recent comprehensive update, click here.)

These are among the construction activities scheduled Nov. 12-18 at the University of Wyoming:

Central Energy Plant (Arcon Inc., Laramie; December 2017) -- Construction fence is set up around the work area. The sidewalk on the west side of 19th Street is closed, and 19th Street will be blocked occasionally. Please be cautious of crews and equipment in the area.

Engineering Education and Research Building (EERB) (Construction manager GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Casper; spring 2019) -- Miscellaneous steel detailing remains. Concrete on the metal deck is complete, and associated topping slabs are 80 percent complete. Concrete block is being placed to form the pilasters around the building. Exterior and interior metal stud framing is underway. Mechanical/electrical/plumbing rough-ins are underway. Please steer clear of heavy equipment or delivery trucks parked on city streets. Click here to see a map showing revisions to bus routes and street closures. Please observe all construction signs.

Mick and Susie McMurry High Altitude Performance Center (Construction manager at risk GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Jackson; June 2018) -- Exterior veneer is complete, with the exception of the penthouse detailing. Drywall hanging and finishing are in progress. Painting, tile and all interior finishes also are in progress. Please use caution when near the project, and observe all construction signs.

Agriculture C and Engineering Addition Buildings (Summit Sealants, Montrose, Colo.; July 2018) -- Painting, caulking and minor repairs to the exteriors of Agriculture C and Engineering are ongoing. The Agriculture C west-end, double-door entrance has scaffolding. Pedestrian traffic is routed through a scaffold passage tunnel to protect pedestrians from drop hazards from work occurring above. Please use caution around crews.

IT Filter Upgrades (Mullen’s Heating, Laramie) -- Filter upgrades will be conducted in the main air-handling units in the penthouse of the Information Technology Building between Nov. 14-17. The units will be shut down for several hours during the day. We will work on one unit at a time so that when one is down, the other unit is still working. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but this will help us in terms of energy efficiency and better air filtration in the building.

Cooper House (Stonewood Design & Construction, Laramie; December 2017) -- Reconstruction of the south-side outdoor patio columns will be completed to repair deterioration. Staging will be in the southeast corner of the parking lot by the landscape dumpster and driveway off Grand Avenue. Please use caution, and observe signs around the construction area.

Campuswide Fall Roof Cleaning (UW Equipment Shop, Flynn Southwest, Brighton Co., Big Horn Roofing, Laramie; Dec. 1) -- A man lift will be used at various locations on campus buildings with gutters and downspouts to clean leaves and debris before winter. Work will affect parking and pedestrian sidewalks at several locations for short periods of time. Please be cautious to stay clear of equipment and safety barricades, and watch for cleaning crews’ activities.

White Hall (UW Operations Shops; June 2018) -- Phase I modifications to the north- and south-side exit stairwells, to prevent cold weather freezing in the soffits, will occur. Each stairwell will be closed at grade level for two days to prevent demolition dust nuisance in core drill phases. Please use the opposite stairwell or elevator when signs are posted. Outside soffit louvers will be removed, blocked and refinished next spring as weather allows. Please use caution, and observe signs around the construction area.

Education Building, Ed Ag Lab (Laramie Mechanical and Heating Systems and Trident Electric; November 2017) -- Ventilation units and electrical connection upgrades for welding units are being installed. Please use caution around crews and equipment.

The following projects are complete:
