University of Wyoming Calendar for Nov. 20-26

These are among the activities scheduled Nov. 20-26 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, Nov. 20, 3:10 p.m. -- The UW Department of Geology and Geophysics Distinguished Lecturer Series presents Jeff Nittrouer, an assistant professor in the Department of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences at Rice University. He will discuss “The exceptional sediment load of the Yellow River, China, and its capacity to produce deltaic landscape” in the S.H. Knight Geology Building, Room 216. A reception will follow in the UW Geological Museum. Free.

Monday, Nov. 20, 6 p.m. -- UW’s 7220 Entertainment will host a Thanksgiving dinner in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. UW students each can receive one free ticket from the Wyoming Union information desk. Tickets cost $10 for the public or free with a donation of three canned food items.

Monday, Nov. 20, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Music’s Symphonic Band will present a fall concert in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Tickets cost $10 for the public; $7 for senior citizens; and $6 for students. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 6:30 p.m. -- Cowgirl basketball vs. Drake University, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.

Tuesday, Nov. 21, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “This Month’s Sky.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Wednesday, Nov. 22-Friday, Nov. 24 -- UW classes will be dismissed. Most UW business and administrative offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23-24, for Thanksgiving.

Sunday, Nov. 26, 4 p.m. -- Cowboy basketball vs. New Mexico Highlands University, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.
