The University of Wyoming Art Museum will host “Panel Discussion: This is Indian Country” in conjunction with UW’s Martin Luther King Jr. Days of Dialogue (MLK DOD) events Tuesday, Jan. 30.

An exhibition preview will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a panel discussion at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served after the discussion.

The panel will discuss “Indian Country: The Art of David Bradley,” an exhibition on view through Saturday, July 14. Angela Jaime, director of the UW American Indian Studies Program; Caskey Russell, a professor in the UW American Indian Studies Program; and Nicole Crawford, curator of collections at the UW Art Museum, will share their reflections on the artist and exhibition.

The panel discussion will be a starting point for student and audience dialogues about the broad aspects of Native culture and influences, as well as negotiating terminology and identity.

The event is part of the annual MLK DOD week of programming, Jan. 29-Feb. 3. An event schedule is available at www.uwyo.edu/studentaff/mlkdod/schedule-of-events/.

For more information about the Art Museum, call (307) 766-6622, visit the website at www.uwyo.edu/artmuseum, or follow the museum on Facebook and Instagram.
