Nominations Accepted for UW Spring Commencement Student Speakers

Two University of Wyoming graduating seniors and one doctoral graduate will be selected to speak during UW’s spring commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 12, and nominations are being accepted for those honors through March 31.

The university will have combined commencement ceremonies this spring for the first time in many years, and the student speakers will join keynote speakers for each event.

One undergraduate speaker will be chosen from the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education or the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources.

Another undergraduate will be chosen from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the College of Business, the College of Engineering and Applied Science, the College of Health Sciences or the School of Energy Resources.

One doctoral graduate will be chosen from any college or school.

UW faculty, staff and students are invited to nominate students for the honor.

Nominations should be sent to studentaffairs@uwyo.edu by March 31. They should detail the nominees’ achievements in each of these areas:

-- Record of academic excellence.

-- Ability to write and speak effectively.

-- Demonstrated leadership in student organizations, student activities, public service or other activities that involve speaking to groups.

-- Representative of the best qualities of UW graduates.
