The owner and CEO of a profitable Wyoming-based software company who is a member of the University of Wyoming Department of Computer Science’s advisory board will speak with UW Master of Business Administration (MBA) students Friday, March 2, in the College of Business.

Heather Shoemaker will discuss the founding of her cutting-edge company, Language I/O, and its successful growth/financial plan, as part of the MBA Program’s Executive Speaker Series.

In just seven years, Language I/O has risen to rank as the fastest-growing company in Wyoming by Wyoming Business Report last fall. The company fills a unique niche in foreign markets by providing solutions that allow businesses to talk to any customer, in any language, at any time over any communication channel without having to add support staff.

As chief product architect, Shoemaker’s focus is on the technology side of business, which includes her effort to extend language translation integration technology to other platforms and in leading the company’s development team.

Shoemaker holds an M.S. from the University of Colorado’s College of Engineering and a B.S. in Latin American studies from the University of Washington in Seattle. She has lived in various parts of the United States and Mexico.

The MBA Program’s Executive Speaker Series, this spring, allows UW MBA students the opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions and receive real-world learning experiences from a group of diverse industry leaders, including CEOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, financial service representatives and sports industry executives.

The UW MBA Program is accepting applications for the 2018 fall semester and will admit qualified students on a rolling basis until the cohort group is filled or June 30, whichever comes first, says Tanner Parmely, MBA Program coordinator.

For more information, call Parmely at (307) 766-2449 or email tparmely@uwyo.edu.
