Kurt James, president of East Balt Japan and Korea Corp., will speak with University of Wyoming Master of Business Administration (MBA) students Friday, March 30, in the College of Business.

James will share his extensive knowledge of global supply chain management with the UW MBA students as part of the MBA Executive Speaker Series. James oversees the distribution of East Balt’s baked goods to McDonald’s and other restaurant chains in Asian markets. He also was instrumental in restructuring the company’s South Africa division, which included rebuilding the human resources structure, operations and sales divisions.

Before joining East Balt, James held upper management positions with McDonald’s Corp. and Nestle. In his former role as senior vice president of McDonald’s in Tokyo, he was accountable for all supply chain functions, including procurement, distribution, logistics and quality assurance. While serving as vice president of Nestle, he was the global lead for the McDonald’s account.

James received his master’s degree in international business from Thunderbird School of International Business in Glendale, Ariz., and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Colorado.

The MBA Program’s Executive Speaker Series this spring allows UW MBA students the opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions and receive real-world learning experiences from a group of diverse industry leaders including CEOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, financial service representatives and sports industry executives.

The UW MBA Program is accepting applications for the 2018 fall semester and will admit qualified students on a rolling basis until the cohort group is filled or June 30, whichever comes first, says Tanner Parmely, MBA Program coordinator.
