Campus Construction Update for March 11

These are among the construction activities scheduled March 11-17 at the University of Wyoming:

Colder Weather Advisory (UW Operations) -- UW Operations asks building occupants to assist with ensuring buildings and facilities are safe and secure. Make sure all windows and doors are completely closed with windows latched at the end of each day, and report any doors or windows that you are unable to close and secure to the Service Desk (766-6225).

Snow Removal (UW Operations) -- Crews will remove snow as needed throughout the season. Watch for snow-removal equipment; be careful and safe during snow events. Call the Service Desk (766-6225) to report icy spots and problem areas.

Wyoming State Vet Lab (Laramie Mechanical and Heating Systems, Laramie) -- Commissioning is ongoing.

Mick and Susie McMurry High Altitude Performance Center (Construction manager at risk GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Jackson; June 2018) -- Finishes within the addition will be completed this week. Within the existing facility, metal stud framing, drywall, mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins are underway. All access to and egress from the Rochelle Athletics Center will be limited to the west weight room doors across from the Fieldhouse North. Traffic control, signs and barricades will be in place at the building interior and exterior during this process. Please use caution when near the project, and observe all construction signs.

Wyoming Union Food Court Roof Replacement Project (Big Horn Roofing, Laramie; June 2018) -- Mobilization will begin the week of March 12 for replacement of the roof over the east side of the building. The contractor will be loading/unloading materials adjacent to the dock. The staging area will be in the Wyoming Union parking lot. Trash dumpsters will be relocated adjacent to the staging area in the parking lot for the duration of construction. Please be cautious around crews and equipment in this area.

Wyoming State Vet Lab, Plant Soils Building, Botany Conservatory, Stadium, Information Technology (Big Horn Roofing, Laramie) -- Various roof and edge blocking/fascia will be repaired. Expect noise and minor disruption due to workers accessing the roofs. Please use caution, and observe signs around the construction area.

Health Sciences Building (Laramie Heating and Sheet Metal, Laramie; March 2018) -- The contractor will replace two F/S dampers in the corridor during the spring break. There will be some noise and dust. Please observe caution around crews.

The following projects are complete:

UW Campus Greenhouse/Willett Drive (UW Operations) -- The repairs to the steam condensate mainline to the campus greenhouse have been completed.

Knight Hall (Big Horn Roofing, Laramie) -- South-center entrance roofs have been replaced, and the project is completed.
