An executive from Wyoming’s tourism industry and University of Wyoming College of Business Advisory Board member will speak with UW Master of Business Administration (MBA) students Friday, April 13, at 10:30 a.m. in the College of Business boardroom.

Diane Shober, executive director of the Wyoming Office of Tourism, will discuss her role in expanding Wyoming’s brand and marketing programs. She also will talk about strategies that continue to grow the tourism and hospitality industries in the state, as part of the MBA Program’s Executive Speaker Series.

With more than three decades of experience managing both urban and rural destination management organizations, Shober is a nationally recognized industry champion. As a collaborative leader, she is engaged in state and federal industry initiatives centered on progress, innovation and growth.

In addition to her role as a UW College of Business Advisory Board member, Shober is involved with the Destination Marketing Industry Association. She also is on the board of directors for Brand USA, Cheyenne Frontier Days, National Council of State Tourism, U.S. Travel Association and Western States Tourism Policy Council, and is a Deeply Rooted Productions founding board member.

Shober received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from UW.

The MBA Program’s Executive Speaker Series, this spring, allows UW MBA students the opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions and receive real-world learning experiences from a group of diverse industry leaders, including CEOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, financial service representatives and sports industry executives.

The UW MBA Program is accepting applications for the 2018 fall semester and will admit qualified students on a rolling basis until the cohort group is filled or June 30, whichever comes first, says Tanner Parmely, MBA Program coordinator.

For more information, call Parmely at (307) 766-2449 or email tparmely@uwyo.edu.
