UW Seeks Faculty Accreditation Fellows

The University of Wyoming’s Office of Academic Affairs invites applications from UW faculty and/or academic professionals to serve as UW Faculty Accreditation Fellows (FAF) during the spring semester of 2019 and, if desired, summer session and fall semester 2019.

The FAF will work with UW’s Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation liaison officer to craft the institution’s assurance argument for its “Open Pathways” reaccreditation visit in November 2019. The FAF will spend the spring semester of 2019 assisting in the writing of the assurance argument and preparation for the HLC peer review team visit to the Laramie and Casper campuses and, if desired, the fall of 2019 assisting in final preparations for the HLC peer review team visit.

“To prepare for the accreditation visit, we will spend much of the 2018-19 academic year gathering evidence from across UW to demonstrate how the institution meets HLC criteria for accreditation; how we practice our mission each day; and how we meet criteria for federal compliance for Title IV funding,” says Associate Vice Provost Anne Alexander, the HLC accreditation liaison officer.

The UW HLC Ops Working Group, led by Alexander, will work with the FAF to write the assurance argument report for the peer reviewers. The timeline for completion of materials in UW’s assurance argument is:

-- Draft completion by July 2019.

-- Full completion by October 2019.

-- Peer reviewer team visit in November 2019, with possible additional evidence and information requests from the reviewers during their visit.

The FAF will be eligible for a 25 percent workload reduction for each academic semester they work on the project. For summer work, a workload adjustment or supplemental pay is available, consistent with university regulations and policies.

To apply for the Faculty Accreditation Fellowship, send an expression of interest and CV to aalex@uwyo.edu. Deadline for applications is Sept. 7.
