University of Wyoming Calendar for June 11

These are among the activities scheduled June 11-17 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, June 12, 7 p.m. -- UW Planetarium full-dome movie, “Phantom of the Universe: the Hunt for Dark Matter.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Tuesday, June 12-Saturday, June 16, 7:30 p.m. -- The 2018 Snowy Range Summer Theatre season opens with “The Marvelous Wonderettes,” Roger Bean’s smash off-Broadway hit in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Thrust Theatre. Tickets cost $10 for the public and $7 for seniors, UW faculty/staff/students and children over age 5. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more people. Wednesday, June 13, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. -- Laramie-based The Woodpile will perform for the UW Summer Concert Series on Simpson Plaza. Free.

Friday, June 15, 1 p.m. -- UW students with valid UW student IDs are eligible for free movie tickets on select Fridays this summer. Students may pick up tickets from the Wyoming Union information desk June 15, June 29, July 13, July 27 and Aug. 10 starting at 1 p.m. on each date.

Friday, June 15, 8 p.m. -- UW Planetarium show, “Overcoming Armageddon.” The STAR Observatory on the rooftop of the Physical Sciences Building will be open to the public 8-10 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

A variety of exhibitions can be seen at the UW Art Museum in the Centennial Complex, 2111 Willett Drive in Laramie. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free.

Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
