These are among the construction activities scheduled July 29-Aug. 4 at the University of Wyoming:

Campus Steam Shutdown (UW Operations) -- The annual campus steam shutdown began Monday, July 16, and will continue through Aug. 20. Most campus buildings between 22nd and Ninth streets, and Ivinson and Lewis streets will not have hot water or steam during the shutdown. A portable boiler located north of Washakie Dining Hall will remain on-site until Aug. 20.

Central Energy Plant (CEP) (Arcon Inc., Laramie; August 2018) -- Construction on a shelter to cover the condensate tank at the CEP will commence Aug. 1. Construction fence is set up around the work area. The sidewalk on the west side of 19th Street may be closed; the street will be blocked occasionally. Please be cautious of crews and equipment in the area.

American Heritage Center (Simon Construction; August 2018) -- The parking lot will be closed for repairs starting July 9-Aug 1. Please use the Visual Arts Building parking lot. Visitor parking also will be located in the Visual Arts Building parking lot.

Wildcatter Re-carpeting (Commercial Flooring) -- The Wildcatter carpet is being replaced. A dumpster is located in the stadium parking lot, and one elevator at a time will be out of public use. Please use caution, and be aware of active renovation zones.

Education Annex (July 10-17) -- Furniture and two vending machines may be in the hallways on the second floor while Rooms 223, 225, 227 and 229 are being re-carpeted. Please be cautious in the area. Room 223 (vending machine room) is missing a few tiles. They have been ordered and will be installed next week. The Pepsi vending machine is still in the hall, but should be moved into Room 223 this week. Rooms 225, 227 and 229 are completed, and Room 223 should be completed this week. Please use caution.

Old Main (UW Operations; August 2018) -- Remodeling of Suite 318 of Old Main is underway. Task items include wall removal and repair, painting, carpeting, electrical routing, moving and cleaning. The work will continue until Aug. 29. The contractor will establish a HEPA-equipped negative pressure enclosure at the entrance of the suite in an effort to mitigate dust and odor dispersion to other locations of Old Main during construction. There will be heavy foot traffic along the main stairwell from ground level to the third floor. A Conex (storage container) for furniture storage will be staged at the northeast corner of the building, near the dumpsters for the facility. Please use caution near crews and equipment.

Physical Sciences Building (MSI; May 29-Aug. 20) -- The area between the Physical Sciences and Health Sciences buildings will be closed for storm sewer work. Please be cautious around equipment and crews. See attached map.

Mick and Susie McMurry High Altitude Performance Center (Construction manager at risk GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Jackson; July 2018) -- Within the existing facility, the interior punch list is underway. All access to and egress from the Rochelle Athletics Center will be limited to the south entry doors. Construction of the north entry is underway. Traffic control, signs and barricades will be in place at the building interior and exterior during this process. Please use caution when near the project, and observe all construction signs.

Classroom Building, Biological and Physical Sciences Buildings (MSI) -- The sidewalk east of the Classroom Building between Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences will be closed for a month due to the storm sewer renovations. See attached map.

Union Day Lot (Simon Contractors, August 2018) -- The day lot will be closed for minor repairs and maintenance. Please use caution around crews and equipment.

Arena Auditorium (A-A) (The Plumbing Co. and Big Huhnks, August 2018) -- The northeast sidewalk area will be closed for concrete and hydrant repairs. Water to the A-A could be temporarily disrupted.

Central Energy Plant (CEP) (The Plumbing Co., July-August 2018) -- Welding crews will be on 19th Street by the CEP working on piping for the steam shutdown. Please be cautious of crews and equipment in the area.
