Photocopier Training Offered Aug. 8

University of Wyoming faculty and staff members can learn about Konica Minolta Business Solutions (KMBS) ShareScan during training and follow-up copier/printer demonstrations Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 8-9.

The advanced scanning and Konica Minolta multi-function printer (MFP) training will take place in the Wyoming Union Family Room.

After completing the first year of UW’s current four-year copier agreement with KMBS, UW Copier Services and the company are offering the sessions to the campus community.

“Please make plans to attend this open house to learn more about the capabilities of ShareScan, to refresh your knowledge of your Konica Minolta copier/printer and to help you improve office efficiency by unlocking the full potential of your MFP,” says Patrick Eastman, UW Copier Services manager.

One of the key features of the training is campus personnel can learn how to scan a paper document directly into either an editable Word or Excel file. Konica Minolta personnel will be available for one-on-one question-and-answer sessions. There also will be an opportunity to schedule appointments with Konica Minolta technicians and trainers, Eastman says.

Copier Services would like to remind the campus community that single function printers (i.e., desktop printers) are often one of the most expensive means of printing. With the networking of nearly all copiers on campus, faculty and staff members are likely able to print directly to a nearby copier at a reduced cost. Questions regarding this printing option can be directed to Copier Services at 766-5546.

Also, all copier supplies, such as toner and staples, are included in this exclusive agreement and should never be purchased from a telemarketer, Eastman says.
