Daniels Fund President to Meet with UW MBA Students Friday

Linda Childears, Daniels Fund president and CEO, will speak with University of Wyoming Master of Business Administration (MBA) students Friday, Sept. 14, in the College of Business.

Childears will meet with UW students as the second speaker of the MBA Program’s Executive Speaker Series this semester.

As president and CEO of the Daniels Fund, as well as an original member of its board of directors, Childears leads all programs and operations of the organization and implements the board’s strategic directions.

Childears and Daniels originally met when her company was hired by him to help overcome the challenges faced when opening Young Americans Bank. When the bank opened in August 1987, Childears accepted Daniels’ offer to be the bank’s president and CEO.

Childears also served as president of Equitable Bank in Littleton, Colo., and vice president of First National Bancorporation. She is the recipient of multiple awards and serves on many boards in the Denver metro area.

The Daniels Fund carries on the intent and direction of its founder through grants and scholarships. These allocations are awarded based on specific geographic and funding criteria originally defined by Daniels. Each year, the fund invests millions of dollars in strengthening the understanding of principle-based ethics and integrity in younger generations.

The MBA Program’s Executive Speaker Series allows UW MBA students the opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions and receive real-world learning experiences from a group of diverse industry leaders, including CEOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, financial service representatives and sports industry executives.
