UW Auxiliary Services Restructures

A major restructuring of University of Wyoming Auxiliary Services has been approved by President Laurie Nichols, with the intent of adjusting reporting lines to best fit the needs of the units and their customers.

“No employees are losing their jobs,” Vice President for Finance and Administration Neil Theobald says. “This is simply a restructuring of who reports to who.”

Among the changes that are now in effect:

-- Auxiliary Services Director Carolyn Smith reports directly to Theobald. She is leading the university’s master planning process, coordinating the efforts of Sasaki Associates, UW’s new master planning firm, to develop a 20-year university master plan. The plan is scheduled for completion in January 2020. Over the next year, Smith also will phase into a leadership role with WyoCloud.

-- The University Store and Copy and Print Center report to the vice president for student affairs. The intent is to place all Wyoming Union operations under one umbrella.

-- Trademark Licensing and Copier Services report to the associate vice president for finance. The intent is to place all financial operations under one umbrella.

-- University Postal Services, Vending Services and the Auxiliary Services director’s office administrative support staff report directly to the associate vice president for operations.

-- Transit and Parking Services reports directly to Theobald.

-- Fleet Services reports directly to Transit and Parking Services.

-- Graphic Design Services reports to Finance and Administration.

“We expect these changes will allow for improved operations and service, while helping us make the most of the master planning process,” Theobald says.
