Nominations for UW Women in STEM Own It! Awards Accepted Through April 8

Nominations are now being accepted for the fourth annual Own It! Awards for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) at the University of Wyoming. The deadline is Monday, April 8.

Winners who have made contributions to the STEM fields will be honored during the Own It! Awards ceremony Tuesday, April 16, in the UW College of Business Building atrium.

Researchers are nominated for their outstanding scientific and scholarly achievements. Awards are available in categories for undergraduate and graduate students, STEM professionals, pre-tenured and tenured faculty members, and community members.

Awards nomination criteria are developed by Wyoming EPSCoR (Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) and partners. Nominations are for women who exemplify the following:

-- A woman student, STEM professional, faculty or community member who has made significant contributions to her field of research.

-- A woman who demonstrates service, leadership and mentoring among her peer group.

-- A woman who inspires teaching and learning among her community.

-- A woman who is deserving of celebration.
