UW Campus to Reopen Friday Following Weather Closure

With weather and travel conditions improving following this week’s storm, the University of Wyoming will reopen for classes and regular business activities Friday, March 15.

UW Transit and Parking Services buses will operate as usual Friday, although the SafeRide and Laramie Link Dial-A-Ride services will not be running tonight, Thursday, March 14.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation reports that Interstate 80 will likely remain closed between Cheyenne and Rock Springs until Friday, while Interstate 25 from Cheyenne south to the Colorado border is expected to reopen this evening. Students unable to attend class Friday due to road closures or other travel difficulties should communicate with their faculty directly to make arrangements for missed class or work.

Students making spring break travel plans should continue to seek up-to-date road information on the Wyoming travel information website at www.wyoroad.info. Always check road conditions before extended travel. Residence halls and the Washakie Dining Center will remain open for students throughout spring break.

UW classes are dismissed for spring break next week, March 18-22, but most business and administrative offices will remain open.
