Stress Management Self-Care Days Scheduled for UW Students During Finals

Self-Care Days are scheduled May 8-17 to help University of Wyoming students curb some of their stress heading into finals week.

“Stress can be a positive thing and can help us be productive and academically successful,” says Torri Tuttle, marketing coordinator for the Wellness Center, located on the west end of Half Acre Recreation facility. “But too much stress can make life difficult.”

The Wellness Center, UW Libraries, the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership, and 7220 Entertainment are teaming up to offer opportunities for healthy stress management for UW students.

Events during Self-Care Days are:

-- Wednesday, May 8: Free electronic foot massage in the Wellness Center Zen Den, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and kitty cuddle time in Room 115 of Half Acre, 4-5 p.m.

-- Thursday, May 9: Drop-in meditation in the Zen Den, 12:15-12:45 p.m.; smoothie bike in Coe Library, 1-2 p.m.; and free electronic foot massage in Coe Library, 2-5 p.m.

-- Friday, May 10: Free fruit in the Wellness Center, 9 a.m.; free electronic foot massage in the Zen Den, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Union Fest, Prexy’s Pasture, Simpson Plaza and Wyoming Union, 11 a.m.

-- Monday, May 13: Adult coloring in Coe Library, all day; free electronic foot massage in the Zen Den, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and puppy playdate in Room 218 of Coe Library, 4-5 p.m.

-- Tuesday, May 14: Adult coloring in Coe Library, all day; grab ’n’ go breakfast in Coe Library, 8-9 a.m.; free electronic foot massage in the Zen Den, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and smoothie bike in Coe Library, noon-1 p.m.

-- Wednesday, May 15: Adult coloring in Coe Library, all day; and free electronic foot massage in Coe Library, 2-5 p.m.

-- Thursday, May 16: Adult coloring in Coe Library, all day; and drop-in mediation in the Zen Den, 12:15-12:45 p.m.

-- Friday, May 17: Adult coloring in Coe Library, all day; free fruit in the Wellness Center, 9 a.m.; and free electronic foot massage in the Zen Den, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
