University of Wyoming Calendar for June 3

These are among the activities scheduled June 3-9 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, June 4, 7 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium show, “This Month’s Sky.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Wednesday, June 5, 10 a.m. -- The Wyoming Center on Aging’s Dementia Support Center, based at UW, will host Janet Lewis, executive director of the Wyoming Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. She will present information about Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. Her talk will take place in Coe Library, Room 121. Free.

Wednesday, June 5, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. -- The Lonesome Heroes, an indie rock and country band, will perform for the UW Summer Concert Series on Simpson Plaza. Free.

Friday, June 7, 8:30 p.m. -- The UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium will host a special stargazing event at the Albany County Public Library, located at 310 S. Eighth St. in Laramie. Light refreshments will be served. Free.

Saturday, June 8, 10 a.m. -- “Western Explorations: The Wyoming Arts Council Biennial Fellowship Exhibition 2018 and 2019” opens at the UW Art Museum. The exhibition features artwork created by the Wyoming artists who were selected as Visual Arts Fellowship recipients. Free.

Saturday, June 8, 10 a.m.-noon -- The UW Art Museum will host Family Saturday Workshop, an open studio, maker space-inspired workshop. Free.

Saturday, June 8, 11 a.m. -- The UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium will host a children’s show. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
