University of Wyoming Calendar for June 17

These are among the activities scheduled June 17-23 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, June 18, 7 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium full-dome movie, “Seeing!” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Wednesday, June 19, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. -- The Littlest Birds, an Americana banjo band, will perform for the UW Summer Concert Series on Simpson Plaza. Free.

Friday, June 21, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host its annual summer solstice celebration. A variety of activities will take place. Free.

Friday, June 21, 8 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium show, “Dust, Light, Dust: The Life Cycle of a Star.” The STAR Observatory on the rooftop of the Physical Sciences Building will be open to the public for a “star party” from 9-9:30 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Saturday, June 22, 11 a.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium show, “Tycho to the Moon.”  Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
