University of Wyoming Calendar for June 17-23

These are among the activities scheduled June 17-23 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, June 18, 7 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium full-dome movie, “Seeing!” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Wednesday, June 19, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. -- The Littlest Birds, an Americana banjo band, will perform for the UW Summer Concert Series on Simpson Plaza. Free.

Friday, June 21, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host its annual summer solstice celebration. A variety of activities will take place. Free.

Friday, June 21, 8 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium show, “Dust, Light, Dust: The Life Cycle of a Star.” The STAR Observatory on the rooftop of the Physical Sciences Building will be open to the public for a “star party” from 9-9:30 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Saturday, June 22, 11 a.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium show, “Tycho to the Moon.”  Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
