University of Wyoming Calendar for June 24-30

These are among the activities scheduled June 24-30 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, June 25, 6 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum presents an artist lecture by Robert Martinez, a 2018 Wyoming Arts Council Visual Arts Fellowship recipient. Martinez’s talk will be in the Visual Arts Building, Room 111. Free.

Tuesday, June 25, 7 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium full-dome movie, “Seeing!” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Tuesday, June 25-Saturday, June 29, 7:30 p.m. -- The 2019 UW Snowy Range Summer Theatre season continues with “Adopt a Sailor,” a comedy that celebrates veterans. Performances will take place in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Studio Theatre. Tickets cost $10 for the public and $7 for students, senior citizens and children over age 5. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more people. Tickets are available at the Performing Arts box office and the Wyoming Union information desk, by calling (307) 766-6666 or going online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Wednesday, June 26, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. -- Local indie rock/country band Hunter Hicks and The Country Skillet will perform for the UW Summer Concert Series on Simpson Plaza. Free.

Wednesday, June 26, 5:30 p.m. -- UW graduate student Christopher Sudol will present “Settler Colonialism Through Water: A Colorado River Case Study” at the Centennial branch of the Albany County Public Library. His talk is part of the UW Center for Global Studies’ “What in the World?” summer program. Free.

Friday, June 28, 8 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium show, “The Hot and Energetic Universe.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
