School of Energy Resources to Celebrate Seventh Year of Energy Day with UW Football

The University of Wyoming’s School of Energy Resources has joined with Learfield Sports to sponsor Energy Day Saturday, Sept. 28, at the UW football game vs. the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

Before the 6 p.m. game, members of the public are invited to visit with energy vendors from around the state at booths in the Indoor Practice Facility. The School of Energy Resources (SER) also will have a booth. There will be free giveaways, interactive energy activities, cornhole games and information on SER’s Summer Energy Institute program.

Leading up to the game, the UW Energy Alumni Association will host a tailgate party bus at Spot 48 in Tailgate Park. The College of Engineering and Applied Science will host tailgate party at Spot 49.

“Energy Day at UW brings together energy vendors from around the state,” SER Director of Research Scott Quillinan says. “This is SER’s seventh year sponsoring UW Energy Day. Please join the School of Energy Resources in celebrating Energy Day.”

In addition to these pregame events, tours of UW’s new Engineering Education and Research Building and drilling simulator are being offered between 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The building is north of Lewis Street between 11th and 12th streets. Email Baillie Miller at bmille42@uwyo.edu to register.

In addition to SER, Energy Day 2019 sponsors are Devon Energy, Ciner, JCA Companies, True Oil, Junction Energy, Tri State, Wyoming Mining Association and Tata Chemicals

SER was created in 2006 to enhance the university’s energy-related education, research and outreach. SER directs and integrates cutting-edge energy research and academic programs at UW and bridges academics and industry through targeted outreach programs. Learn more at www.uwyo.edu/ser.
