International Education Week Events Nov. 18

Events ranging from presentations on scholarship opportunities to country displays and education-abroad opportunities are among activities planned for the University of Wyoming’s International Education Week Nov. 18-23. Events are free and open to the public.

The week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. UW hosts students and scholars from nearly 90 countries on campus each year.

The activities are sponsored by UW’s Global Engagement Office, which includes the Education Abroad office, the International Students and Scholars office, and the English Language Center. International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences.

UW’s Global Engagement Office will house the Food Share Cabinet for sharing healthy nutritious foods with its students, and it is sponsoring a food drive during the week. Nonperishable food items and cash donations will be accepted. Donations can be made from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in the International Students and Scholars office in the Cheney International Center.
