Governor Signs Proclamation for SBDC Day in Wyoming

Gov. Mark Gordon signed a proclamation last week designating Wednesday, March 18, as Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Day in Wyoming.

SBDC Day recognizes the work of the nearly 1,000 accredited SBDC programs in the country, and Wyoming entrepreneurs will join thousands across the United States in celebrating their local SBDC.

“Our team is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs in any industry, any business stage and anywhere in Wyoming,” says Jill Kline, state director of the Wyoming SBDC Network. “We love hearing about the achievements of our clients, and SBDC Day is a chance for them to share their stories. Small businesses make up 95.6 percent of all Wyoming companies, and our clients average a sales growth rate that is six times higher than the state average and a job growth rate that is 23 times higher.”

For 25 years, the Wyoming SBDC Network has helped entrepreneurs start or grow their businesses through nine regional offices across the state. Since 1994, the Wyoming SBDC Network assisted 47,580 entrepreneurs, resulting in more than 1,200 new businesses; 23,973 jobs created or saved; and a capital impact of $285.2 million for the state’s economy.

The Wyoming SBDC Network, hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council, also is funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
