The Summit Chamber Players, the University of Wyoming’s faculty string ensemble, will perform with guest pianist Andrew Todd Wednesday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts recital hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Summit Chamber Players are composed of UW Department of Music faculty members John Fadial and Sherry Sinift, violin; James Przygocki, viola; and Beth Vanderborgh, cello. The quartet will be joined by Todd in a program featuring Dvorak's “Terzetto for Two Violins and Viola” and the Brahms piece “Piano Quintet.”

The ensemble presents a broad repertoire, from Mozart to contemporary composers, and has been featured on chamber music series throughout the West, including recitals at the Black Hills Chamber Music Society, the Casper Chamber Music Society, the Lander Community Concerts Association and the Wheatland Chamber Music Series. The Summit Chamber Players seek to engage young string players though performances, workshops and master classes.

Todd has a diverse career as a nonprofit executive and a concert pianist, serving as president and CEO of the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson and performing solo recitals and chamber music across the country. Todd holds degrees from the University of Colorado-Boulder, Mannes College of Music and Northwestern University.

As the winner of the Artists International Piano Award, Todd made his New York debut in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2001. Released in 2002, Todd’s first CD featured the works of Bach, Beethoven, Granados and Rachmaninoff. He released a CD, titled “Looking Back: The Late Piano Works of Johannes Brahms,” in 2012. His newest album, released last December, features works by Haydn, Berg and Schumann.
