Columnist to Speak in UW Humanities Virtual Program Sept. 17

September 16, 2020

Nicholas Kristof, an American journalist, author and New York Times columnist, will be the featured speaker in the Wyoming Institute for Humanities Research (WIHR) “Think and Drink” series of virtual discussions Thursday, Sept. 17, at 5:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants can view the discussion on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/960820100.

Kristof will discuss the decadeslong shattering of the American dream for many working-class families that has led to a pandemic of despair. Published in 2020, “Tightrope: Americans Reaching for Hope,” written by Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, will be the focus of the virtual discussion that covers current affairs.

“You also may livestream the ‘Think and Drink’ event or watch the video of it later at the institute's YouTube channel, where you also may find videos of our previous events,” says WIHR Director Scott Henkel.
