UW Student Virtual Town Hall Monday

University of Wyoming students will learn about resources to help them navigate the unusual fall semester amid the COVID-19 pandemic during a virtual town-hall meeting Monday, Oct. 5, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

It will air via Zoom at https://uwyo.zoom.us/j/92365718255.

“We are so proud and appreciative of the way our students have handled this difficult time, including all of the adjustments we’ve had to make in response to the changing situation with the virus. As we have moved to Phase 3 of our fall return plan with many more students on campus, we’re seeing a high level of on-campus compliance with our requirements for wearing face protection, physical distancing and the like, which is such a great sign of commitment from our students,” Vice President for Student Affairs Kim Chestnut says. “At the same time, we know our students continue to have many questions and concerns about what is happening this semester. We hope to address many of those in this town-hall session.”

UW President Ed Seidel, Chestnut and others will provide an update on the university’s efforts to provide an on-campus and in-person experience at the greatest level possible. That includes required testing of students who spend time on campus, an essential piece of the Phase 3 plan.

Resources for students also will be covered, including financial assistance; what to do if students are hungry, sick or alone; campus activities; and how to address concerns about coursework and connecting with faculty members.

Following the presentation, the leaders will address questions from students.

Information about student resources may be found at www.uwyo.edu/dos/student-resources/covid-19-student-resources.html#student%20Resources. More information about UW’s COVID-19 response can be found at www.uwyo.edu/campus-return, which is being updated as information becomes available.
