UW Names Finalists for Online/Continuing Ed Vice Provost

Two finalists for the position of vice provost for online and continuing education at the University of Wyoming have been identified, and they’re scheduled to have on-campus interviews beginning Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The candidates are Matt Griswold, associate vice president for online learning at Metropolitan State University of Denver; and Leah Simpson, executive director of online learning at Kentucky Community and Technical College System.

Each candidate will be on campus for a day and a half of engagement, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 26, for the first candidate and ending Wednesday, Nov. 2, for the second candidate. These visits will include virtually prerecorded lightning talks from each candidate that will demonstrate their creativity and knowledge with online course delivery.

“The opportunity to provide a virtual lightning talk will replace the standard campus presentation that most candidates are used to,” Provost and Executive Vice President Kevin Carman says. “This allows the community to evaluate the knowledge and skills directly related to online and continuing education.”

Links to the lightning talks will be sent to the campus community before the visits, with opportunities for questions at a public meet and greet at Rendezvous Cafe.
