UW’s Office of Sponsored Programs Announces Personnel Changes

A couple of administrative changes have taken place in the University of Wyoming Office of Sponsored Programs. 

Bethany Allen, who served as the interim director for six months, has been named director of the Office of Sponsored Programs. Additionally, Lori Shuler has been appointed as manager of post-award services, which was Allen’s previous position. 

Allen has worked at UW since 2016. She was the assistant director of business operations for the College of Arts and Sciences before joining the Office of Sponsored Programs in 2020. 

Shuler joined UW in 2018 as a post-award specialist II and effort compensation compliance administrator in the Office of Sponsored Programs. 

“We are excited for Bethany and Lori to be stepping into these leadership roles,” says Alex Kean, UW vice president for budget and finance. “Their expertise and professionalism will continue to drive UW forward.” 

A unit of Financial Affairs, the Office of Sponsored Programs serves the post-award needs of departmental administrators/business managers, colleges and principal investigators by providing guidance on post-award-related matters for externally funded projects received by UW.
