UW offers 80 undergraduate and more than 90 graduate academic programs through seven colleges and multiple interdisciplinary institutes and schools. With a small student/faculty ratio of 15:1, UW is a community of scholars and learners committed to excellence. UW’s academic programs of distinction are focused in six broad areas: science and technology, the arts and humanities, environment and natural resources, life sciences, and professions critical to the state and region.
Competing at the NCAA Division I-A level and as a member of the Mountain West Conference, the Cowboys and Cowgirls regularly contest regional and national powers in football, basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, swimming, track, tennis, volleyball, and wrestling. UW provides a healthy-minded environment with the Half Acre recreation facilities, the Outdoor Program, UW credit for National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) courses, 19 club sport teams, and 45 intramural sports.
