Secondary Science Education in Biology Degree

As a student of Secondary Science education, you will:

  • choose courses in microbial, plant and fungal, and animal biology, and ecology, or evolution and genetics;

  • take specific courses, in addition to your biology major coursework, designed to prepare you for becoming an educator in a secondary classroom, grades six through twelve in Wyoming;

  • participate in a two-year cohort, and after completing all prerequisites, proceed through upper division education coursework with a group;

  • have opportunities to add endorsements in earth science and chemistry;

  • receive an institutional recommendation in secondary science education with an endorsement in biology upon successful completion of all coursework, field experiences, and a four-month residency teaching assignment.
