Past Summer Camp- More Reflections

See what past campers have had to say about their Healthcare Careers Camp experience...

"We learned and were exposed to SO MUCH! Every place we went, the professionals were so nice and appeared happy to be able to help us learn about their field. One of the best parts of this was that it made me think. I have always considered college and career, but not nearly as much as I did this week. I have thought about so much and so hard. The goal to inspire us, teach us about careers, and provoke thoughts was absolutely attained! All in all, this was an amazing camp. I am so thankful that i had these opportunities and experiences."

"Actually getting to feel like a health care professional was awesome. I never thought I would get to practice IVs or practice stitches on a chicken leg!"

"The best part of the program was the five days that we were able to spend with teenagers from around the state, who share the same love for health and sciences as I do. It was awesome to be able to explore ALL health careers, even the ones that I thought I wasn't interested in. I of course loved the anatomy lab, because it was one of the those things that most kids don't EVER have a chance to do."

Summer Camp 2011

"I liked how the camp introduced us to as many health care careers as possible. I also loved how fun it was! Everything was planned out great and the activities involving health care were fun, but the team building and messing around were super fun and made me enjoy the camp a lot more and be more open to learning because I was in a good mood."

"The very best thing about the AHEC camp was that I will now definitely be going into healthcare. It reminded me of all the options in healthcare and raised my expectations for myself to become someone who can help, and be looked up to, like our counselors. Thank you so much for such an enlightening experience."

"I LOVED this camp! It was a wonderful experience and I will never forget it! I learned so much this week and made a lot of new friends. This camp made me so excited to start my career in healthcare and for that I thank you guys!!"
