Workshop Objective
Local Project Administration through WYDOT enables cities, towns and nonprofit agencies
to make transportation improvements with federal and state money. A certified staff
member takes charge of a “locally administered project” in partnership with WYDOT
which makes sure all federal and state requirements are met. Requirements can be overwhelming
to local agencies, especially if federal funds are infrequently used. The goal is
to assist local agencies in bringing projects to successful completion.
Workshop Description
This one-day course offers guidance on the administrative, legal, financial, and
environmental requirements for locally sponsored projects awarded federal and state
transportation funding
Who Should Attend
Any city, town, county, or local public agency employee or consultant project manager
who will be responsible for the oversight of a federally funded project should attend
this certification workshop. Attendees are expected to already
possess a working knowledge of this subject.
Instructors
WYDOT and FHWA will provide instructors for this certification.
The Wyoming Technology Transfer Center (WYT2) has instructors certified by the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) to teach Work Zone Safety and the ATSSA Flagger Certification Training Course. This program provides training to improve the safety of flaggers working on public roads and highways.
WYT2 will provide instructors who travel to the agency's location and perform the 8-hr Work Zone and ATSSA Flagger Training. Instructors also administer the certification exams and provide the certification cards.
