Inclusion Council
Inclusion Council Mission Statement
Members of the University of Wyoming hail from over 80 countries, 50 states, and various
indigenous nations. The diverse identities and backgrounds of the over 12 thousand
individuals at UW contribute to its richness. For UW's success, it's crucial to attract
and retain quality students, staff, and faculty in an environment where everyone feels
safe, supported, and valued. The Inclusion Council (IC) commits to creating a welcoming
space by building supportive structures. The IC's mission is to provide leadership
and support to coordinate efforts, utilize resources, and sustain an inclusive environment
for the success of all UW members.

Guiding Principles:
- The work of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is work that all parts of the University

- A key component of doing DEI work is working in partnership, collaboration, and community
with the many diverse communities and stakeholders who are part of the UW collective
and providing all such groups a meaningful and influential seat at the table, where
the input of such groups is regularly sought and valued and where the collective knowledge
may be captured and fully utilized.
