Configure Microsoft Outlook 2007 and 2010 to Access Your UW Email
Introduction
All University of Wyoming (UW) faculty, staff, and students are provided with an email account, and Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Web App are the supported applications for accessing this account. These instructions can be used to setup Outlook for users both on Office 365 and on our local exchange servers. These instructions can also be used to configure access for on campus computers and those off-campus or in the residence halls.

Note: if you are ever prompted for a username, be sure to use your full email address – example:
username@uwyo.edu.
Procedure
- Creating a New Outlook Profile
- Click the Start Pearl – All Programs – and locate Outlook 2007 or 2010. Launch the program.

- When the Microsoft Outlook 2010 Startup window appears, click on
Next.
Note: if you have run Microsoft Outlook before the startup window will not appear and you will need to add an account. Instructions for adding a new profile are at the end of this document.

- In the Account Configuration window, click the button next to
Yes and click on Next.

- In the Add New Account window, click the button next to E-mail Account. In some cases with computers on the
UWyo domain, the information will already be filled out. If the information is not already filled out, provide the needed information and click
Next when done.
Your Name: your full name
Email Address: username@uwyo.edu (be sure to include the @uwyo.edu)
Password: your UWyo password

- Outlook will configure your settings, which may take several minutes. When it has been successfully configured, click
Finish.

- Outlook will take a few minutes to launch, and will then be ready for use. If prompted to login be sure to use your full email address (example
username@uwyo.edu) for the username.
- Adding a New Outlook Profile
- Click the Start menu, and click Control Panel (or point to
Settings, and click Control Panel).
- In the Control Panel, if you are using Category View, click User Accounts, and then click
Mail. If you are using Icon View (or Classic View in Windows XP), double-click
Mail.
- In the Mail Setup window, click Show Profiles.
- In the New Profile window name the profile and click OK.
- The Add New Account window should now appear. See step 1D above for
the remainder of the setup.
