Install ESRI CityEngine 2012 from the UW Network

Note: Functional knowledge and use of this application is the responsibility of the user.

Introduction

The University of Wyoming provides the ESRI CityEngine software package free of charge for installation on UW owned computers for academic teaching and research use only. In order to install and run the software the computer must be connected to the UW Network. To install CityEngine from the UW network, request access through the IT Help Desk at userhelp@uwyo.edu or 766-4357, option 1. Once eligibility has been confirmed you will receive an email informing you that access has been granted.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Start button and in the search bar type \\uwapps\arcgis_10.2$\CityEngine\CityEngine_2012_1_64bit_130381.exe

  2. At the Welcome screen click Next.

  3. Review the License Agreement and then click on the I Accept the license agreement radio button and then click Next.

  4. Choose the Install Location and click Next.

  5. Select the Start Menu Folder and then click Install.

  6. The install will process and may take a while to complete. When done you will receive a notice that the install was completed successfully. Click Next.

  7. Another notice that setup was complete will come up and it will have the option to Authorize City Engine. Be sure the check box is selected and click Finish.

  8. The ArGIS administrator Window will come up. A little over ½ way down, there is an Esri CityEngine section, in this area select Advanced Concurrent Use. In the License Manager section type in 27008@uwesrilicense.uwyo.edu and click OK.

  9. The ArcGIS Administrator window will come up. Select the Availability under CityEngine folder to confirm licenses, then click OK.
