What type of support can I expect for my SSE database instance?

This service is intended for users with sufficient knowledge of SSE and their applications to maintain their databases and applications. It is the responsibility of the client to have and maintain sufficient knowledge about their application and SSE to manage and troubleshoot interaction between the application, the database instance, and any database accounts necessary for application communication. IT does not provide instructions on how to setup a SSE database’s security and tables. It is understood that the client will maintain this expertise. If more support is needed IT offers alternative database services for additional fees. Clients should contact the IT Database Office at database-it@uwyo.edu to discuss other service options.

Is there scheduled downtime?

IT sets aside Sunday mornings from 12:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. for system patching and maintenance. IT also reserves the right to take the database down for emergency security patches if it is deemed a significant enough security threat to warrant patching immediately.

IT reserves the right to take any SSE instance out of service immediately if it is deemed to have been compromised or is otherwise adversely affecting the server or other services on the system.
