WyoWeb 2014 Redesign Frequently Asked Questions

The University of Wyoming is working on complete redesign of the web portal WyoWeb. This redesign will significantly change the look and feel of WyoWeb, but at the same time make access to services and information more intuitive. Below are answers to several questions that have been asked as the redesign has been shown to the campus community.

Why is WyoWeb being redesigned?

WyoWeb is being redesigned to help create a portal page that is simplified and provides students, faculty and staff with direct access to commonly used services and useful information. The new WyoWeb page is designed to remove clutter and streamline the process of directing people to the services they need to access.

What will the new WyoWeb look like?

When will the new WyoWeb be available?

The new WyoWeb was rolled out on Friday May 16th, 2014.

How do I log into WyoWeb?

WyoWeb is being redesigned into a landing page with links to a variety of student, faculty and staff resources and as such, you no longer need to log into WyoWeb itself. On the new landing page links to resources that require a login are marked with red padlocks. Clicking on any of these links will bring you to a login page where you log in using your uwyo username and password.

Where do I go to register for classes?

The ability to register for classes can be found under the WyoRecords area of WyoWeb. Once you log into WyoRecords class registration can be accessed by clicking on the Registration button and then Add or Drop Classes.

Where do I go to look up my grades?

The ability to look up grades is found under the WyoRecords area of WyoWeb. Once you log into WyoRecords you can look up grades by clicking on the Student Records button and then Grades.

How can I see and accept my financial aid?

The ability to see and accept financial aid can be found under the WyoRecords area of WyoWeb. Once you log into WyoRecords you can view and accept your financial aid by clicking on the Financial Aid button and then Awards.

Where do I go for the Groups function?

Group functionality found in the current WyoWeb can be accessed under WyoGroups. The WyoGroups icon looks like an open door and is located in the top icon bar.

Where do I go for the Course Studio function?

Course Studio functionality found in the current WyoWeb will be accessed under the WyoCourses. The WyoCourses icon looks like a pencil over a notebook and is located in the top icon bar.

I am a faculty/staff advisor, where do I go to look up student information?

Faculty and Staff advisors can access student information through the WyoRecords area of WyoWeb. Once you log into WyoRecords student information can be found by clicking on the Faculty and Advisors button. You will then be presented with a variety of options, but to perform a quick lookup of an Advisee click on the Advisee Search.

I am an employee at UW and I currently go through WyoWeb to access my Paystub and view my leave balances. Where will I go to access this information in the new system?

UW employees can access paystubs and leave balances through the Human Resources area of WyoWeb. Once logged into Human Resources, the interface is identical to the system prior to the upgrade.

Will I be able to customize my page?

No, users no longer have the ability customize the WyoWeb page. It is a static landing page that has the same consistent look and feel for everyone.
