Parameters related to the emission factors for the production and processing of coal are shown on the Coal Production & Processing parameter screen.

This screen is only shown when coal is used as a fuel. There may be up to three instantiations of this screen, depending on how many coals are used in the blend. The title of the screen will indicate which fuel is being referenced, e.g. Fuel 1 (Coal) Production & Processing.

All emission factors on this screen are expressed as units CO2 equivalent per unit fuel.

The following parameters are available:

Coal Type: The model will attempt to choose a coal that is closest to the one you're using. You may override this choice if if you wish. The options are:

Illinois #6 (Bituminous)

Wyoming Powder River Basin (Sub-Bituminous)

Fuel Mining:

Total Emissions: This is the total emission factor for coal mining, expressed as units CO2 equivalent per unit fuel. It is highlighted in yellow.

Fuel Processing:

Total Emissions: This is the total emission factor for coal processing, expressed as units CO2 equivalent per unit fuel. It is highlighted in yellow.
