Parameters related to the emission factors for the transport of coal are shown on the Coal Transport parameter screen.

This screen is only shown when coal is used as a fuel. There may be up to three instantiations of this screen, depending on how many coals are used in the blend. The title of the screen will indicate which fuel is being referenced, e.g. Fuel 1 (Coal) Transport.

The following parameters are available:

Fuel Transport:

Transport Method: This is the method used to transport the coal. The following options are available:

Multiple Modes: This is the default. Coal is transported by train, truck and/or barge.

Barge: Coal is transported solely by barge.

Train: Coal is transported solely by train.

Truck: Coal is transported solely by truck.

Train: (Only shown when Train or Multiple Modes is chosen for the Transport Method .)

Transport Distance: This is the distance coal is transported by train. If you know the actual distance, you should override this number.

Emissions: The emission factor for train transport.

Truck: (Only shown when Truck or Multiple Modes is chosen for the Transport Method .)

Transport Distance: This is the distance coal is transported by truck. If you know the actual distance, you should override this number.

Emissions: The emission factor for truck transport.

Barge: (Only shown when Barge or Multiple Modes is chosen for the Transport Method .)

Transport Distance: This is the distance coal is transported by barge. If you know the actual distance, you should override this number.

Emissions: The emission factor for barge transport.

Total Emissions: This is the total emission factor for coal transport, calculated from the emission factors and distances given above. It is expressed as units CO2 equivalent per unit fuel. This value is highlighted in yellow and is shown for reference only.
