The Syngas Out parameter screen shows the composition of the syngas generated by the gasifier.

The syngas is calculated as a function of the coal, water, and oxidant input flow rates, the carbon loss, and the gasifier temperature. The composition may be changed by the user. The location of this syngas composition is after the gasification but prior to the low temperature cooling and water quench. Hence, the steam content of the syngas is typically in the 10-15% by volume range.

If a custom coal is used, the syngas composition must be specified by the user.

This is a standard syngas component screen.

Warning:

The model is not capable of calculating the syngas composition of an arbitrary coal. If you choose a custom coal, the composition values will all be zero, and you must override them. If you do not know the syngas composition, you should pick something close to your coal on the Fuel Properties screen instead of using a custom coal.

Warning:

Uncertainty on this screen should only be used for Batch Processing. Varying the components independently does not make sense - if one percentage is higher, another percentage will need to be lower to keep the total at 100%.
