An endorsement in Adapted Physical Education for Wyoming Public Schools is available
to individuals who have completed or are in the process of completing a Bachelor's
Degree in Physical Education Teacher Education. In addition to the coursework required
for a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education Teacher Education from the University
of Wyoming, an individual must complete the following courses for an endorsement in
adapted physical education in Wyoming:
- EDEX 2484 (3 credits) Introduction to Special Education
- preferably to be taken along with undergraduate coursework
- KIN 4065 (3 credits) Resources in Adapted Physical Education
- preferably to be taken along with undergraduate coursework
- KIN 4075 (3 credits) Assessment in Adapted Physical Education
- preferably to be taken when teaching
Individuals who have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education Teacher Education
at another institution may be required to complete additional coursework as determined
through a transcript analysis. If you are interested in determining whether or you meet the state requirements for
an endorsement in adapted physical education, please submit a cover letter, copies of transcripts, and an outline of past experiences
(if applicable) to Dr. Tristan Wallhead.
