The technology transfer team works proactively with industry, governments, and nonprofit organizations to facilitate research collaborations and the use of University of Wyoming Innovations. The goal of the team is to enable:

Industry access to UW research
Commercialization or Utilization of UW Innovations
University entrepreneurs to flourish

The technology transfer team works with other UW units such as Research Services, Industry and Strategic Partnerships, IMPACT 307, the Wyoming Small Business Development Corporation, and UW Manufacturing Works to facilitate industry-university interactions.

UW uses a variety of template agreements to facilitate the transfer of innovations and expertise.

Please keep in mind, these are template agreements that may require modification for specific interactions and transactions. Any changes to these agreements must be approved by the Technology Transfer Office and the agreements must be signed by the proper UW signature authority.

University of Wyoming Non-disclosure Agreement
Used for the exchange of confidential information between the University and individuals, companies, agencies, entities, or other universities to protection confidential information that may be exchanged as part of a discussion to collaborate or discuss commercialization.
University of Wyoming Manufacturing Works Non-Disclosure Agreement
This agreement enables discussions between potential clients and Manufacturing Works (MW) staff that may involve confidential client information so that MW staff can assess and advise on the project.
University of Wyoming Industry Sponsored Research
Research funded by companies at the University, must conform to certain policy, state law, and federal requirements. This agreement provides the framework under which the University can work with companies to conduct research for which the company is paying.
University of Wyoming License Agreement
The license agreement is used to convey rights to companies to commercially develop the University’s intellectual property. The rights conveyed and the consideration received vary with each transaction depending on the needs of the company, the stage of the technology, and the needs of the University.
