Accessing Materials from a Distance & ONLINE

If you're not on campus in Laramie, don't worry! You can still access our library resources remotely.

  • Explore our extensive collection of databases via QuickSearch or Database A-Z for scholarly sources.
  • We offer physical books, eBooks, DVDs, and streaming video.
  • UW students, faculty, staff, and Wyoming residents with a local public library card or UW student ID can access the OverDrive Virtual Library and Libby app for popular e-books, audiobooks, and magazines.
  • Our Research Guides are tailored to help you find resources for specific subjects and classes.

How To Access Off THE MAIN Campus

  • When you try to access UW Libraries resources from home, you will be asked to log on with your UW username, password and two-factor authentication to access library resources restricted by licensing agreements.

  • You want to make sure you are logging into UW Libraries databases using our Proxy URLs though either our Research Guides or Database A-Z. This will make sure you can login and gain full access to resources from home.

  • Do you have questions about using two-factor authentication? You can contact IT, look at their 2FA knowledge base, or use their tutorial

INTERLIBRARY LOAN

Are there books or journal articles you want access to but hit a paywall? Don’t pay for access to information and instead request access through Interlibrary Loan! UW students, faculty, and staff can request access to materials through Interlibrary Loan and have physical materials like books or DVDs mailed to their house with a free return label or have e-materials emailed to them in PDF format.
