The Rangeland Plant Ecophysiology Lab (RPEL) investigates plant-environment interactions and feedbacks in arid and semiarid landscapes. Student and postdoc research centers on the role of plants in water and carbon cycle processes from cellular to ecosystem scales, and from daily to interannual timescales. Major research questions address the pontential responses of water-limited ecosystems to changes in climate, atmospheric chemistry and vegetation composition.
