Choose a Bottle

 

The next task is to choose a bottle. A bottle is a separate virtual environment in which to install the software, sort of like a separate computer.

You can install multiple applications in the same bottle, but it is often helpful to keep them separate. All bottles have access to your files, so you likely won't notice any functional difference. However, if an application is in its own bottle, you can tweak its environment if needed without affecting anything else, and you can uninstall it by simply telling CrossOver to delete its bottle.

Click the "Edit" button to the right of "You will need to select the bottle...":

CrossOver will pop up a dialog to allow you to create or choose a bottle:
