Academic Advising

First-Year Academic Advising

First-year students will be assigned a faculty advisor at the beginning of the fall term. Faculty advisors will focus on academic expectations, professionalism, curriculum and career advice, or simply answering questions about law school.

Advising Beyond the First Year

UW College of Law faculty are available for advising to upper class students (2Ls and 3Ls).  Upper class students can continue to connect with 1L professors, and develop relationships with new professors as well. In addition, students may seek advice from the Assistant Dean, Director of Career Services, or the Director of the Academic Success Program. The College of Law registrar is also available by appointment for Degree Evaluations to ensure that all degree requirements are being met. The law school also has a Pathways to Practice webpage that provides a comprehensive online guide for students.
