Dan Brackmann joined the George W. Hopper Law Library as a Reference Librarian in 2026. He has worked in academic libraries for the last 12 years, starting as the Electronic Resources Librarian at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, then moving to the Joseph F. Rice School of Law at the University of South Carolina as a Reference Librarian. Before becoming a law librarian, Dan practiced law in small firms for 15 years in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Dan's academic interests include personal finance literacy within the legal profession; the potential intersection of satisficing and A.I.; the strategic implications for university, law school, and library management from the knowledge-based models of the firm; the history of knowledge management; and pedagogical practices that maximize student agency.
