Jacquelyn Bridgeman has been a member of the University of Wyoming College of Law faculty and adjunct faculty in African American and Diaspora Studies since 2002. She became Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the College of Law in October 2010 and was named Associate Dean of Program Development and Kepler Professor of Law in August 2013. She was appointed Interim Dean of the College of Law in November 2013 and served in that capacity until June 2015. On July 1, 2017, she became the Interim and Inaugural Director of the School of Culture, Gender & Social Justice in the College of Arts & Sciences, a position she held for six years. 

During her career she has taught Employment Law, Sports and Entertainment Law, Family Law, Torts, Legal Writing, and has conducted the College of Law’s academic achievement program. She has also taught African Americans and the Law and Black Politics in the African American and Diaspora studies program. Professor Bridgeman received the John P. Ellbogen Meritorious Classroom Teaching Award in 2008 and was named the College of Law’s outstanding faculty member for 2004-05 and 2013-14. In 2014 she was recognized as a Woman of Distinction by the University of Wyoming Women’s Leadership Conference.

Before coming to UW, Bridgeman was an associate attorney at the Los Angeles law firms of Curiale, Dellaverson, Hirschfeld, Kraemer & Sloan, and Loeb & Loeb, where she specialized in a wide range of labor and employment matters.

Bridgeman received her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Stanford University. She earned her J.D. degree from the University of Chicago.

Professor Bridgeman’s scholarly writing has been in the areas of race, gender, education, politics, family, and sports.
