Professor Klint Alexander joined the University of Wyoming College of Law as Dean in 2015 and served in that role until 2024. He was previously a Partner and Of Counsel in two major Southeastern law firms where he practiced in the areas of foreign trade and investment law, education law, and commercial litigation. For the past three decades, Professor Alexander has served in teaching and leadership roles at several major institutions, including Yale University, Vanderbilt University, and the University of London’s Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. During the early-1990s, Dr. Alexander served as Special Assistant to the President of Yale for External Relations and, later, as a trade negotiator in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for coordinating trade policy reviews of various countries and representing the White House in trade negotiations before the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva and the World Customs Organization (WCO) in Brussels. He also served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Boyce F. Martin Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit (1999-2000) after earning his law degree. Professor Alexander received a BA in History from Yale University (1991), his M.Phil. and Ph.D in International Relations from Cambridge University (1994, 1997), and JD from the University of Virginia School of Law (1999). Prof. Alexander has published books and articles on trade and investment law, Constitutional Law, and higher education law and is licensed to practice law in Wyoming, Kentucky, Tennessee, and the District of Columbia. Additionally, he is admitted to practice before the Law Society of England and Wales as a Solicitor.
