Professor Alexander teaches Intellectual Property, Health Law, Bioethics, and Civil Procedure II. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, with distinction, from Yale University and her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. After law school, Professor Alexander clerked for the Honorable John G. Heyburn, II of the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. Then, she spent more than a decade practicing law at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, a 500+ attorney law firm, as a business litigation partner (and associate). As a lawyer, Professor Alexander received the “AV Preeminent” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, and served on the Executive Counsel of the Litigation Section of the Tennessee Bar Association (2007 – 2011). Professor Alexander is a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation. She has also been an Assistant Professor at Belmont University College of Law, where she received a “Best Professor” award in 2013. Her scholarship focuses on the intersection of bioethics, health law, and public policy.
